Stupid Sh** People Pull on Facebook

It’s all about ME. This one drives me up the wall. You have a string of people responding to an event you are promoting, and you have one person respond to the entire string saying, “Oh wow, I have a new book out too and I am selling it on XYZ website!” First, the string does not care and the shameless self-promotion on this level will guarantee the 20 people not to attend your event/book launch party or whatever else happens to be pouring out of your mouth. Even more annoying, when a publicist is promoting something for her client and you do this. No bueno.

You Tube Gone Way Wrong. This incident was something to this day I still feel horribly bad for Domino’s, even though I would rather eat Kale then order pizza from them. (Yes, I am a pizza snob. Sorry. ) Poor Dominoes had the horrible experience of having two of their employees in an individually owned store put cheese up their nose and then upload a video of them doing this act on You Tube. (This is not the reason why I do not like Domino’s but …). Within a few days, the video had over a million views costing the company a massive lost of customers. My point? Make sure you do not hire people to represent your company that would pull this and second, if you do something really dumb and upload it to You Tube – be prepared for the aftermath.

Don’t Pull a Facebook Fairy. Nowadays, 76% of recruiters go on social media to do background research on potential employees before they hire them. A Facebook Fairy maneuver (I think I have this right) is someone that calls in sick to work and then broadcasts they are spending the day in wine country accompanied by posts of pictures. Please note if you friend someone they can see what your doing and you should check your privacy settings as well. I for example, plan on being in wine country this weekend, but you are not going to see any personal photos plastered all over Facebook. The main reason being that if my very knowledgeable accounting man starts talking taxes I may be taking a nap on a picnic bench. Anyway, you may think you are pulling a fast one when is comes to posts, but in fact your stealth maneuvers are not as stellar as James Bond.

  1. Amazing things here. I am very satisfied to see your post.
Thank you a lot and I’m looking ahead to contact you. Will you please drop me a e-mail?

  2. You actually make it appear really easy together with your presentation
however I in finding this topic to be actually one thing which I think I would
never understand. It seems too complicated and very wide for me.

I’m having a look forward on your next post, I will try to get the dangle of it!

  3. Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re using? I’m planning
to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a hard time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
