Why A Professional Job Title is Always Best

Experienced Bra Fitter. Here is the deal: if you hired the right marketing company here they are going to recommend that this should not be the title on your business card. How about “fashion consultant?” Now, if you are a male, this definitely should not be your job title and most likely will not get any business as a result. Nice try though. Also, something to think about … shouldn’t a bra fitter be experienced period?

Play Station Brand Ambassador. What is this exactly? This screams I play video games all day and makes me want to write Nintendo to ask what exactly this job entails. I really think you could put ambassador of romper room on your business card and have the exact same effect. P.S. Who has time to play video games?

Rock Star Developer. This is a favorite I stumbled upon last week and she is a business development coach. No, this is not for the Rockstar drink corporation either. When I think of Rock Star Developer – I am thinking American Idol coach or maybe someone that works for Sony. To make matters worse, this gal had a music logo and similar images all over her card. Hm. I think her branding experts may have missed the mark here.

Job Coach. If I was unemployed, I do not think I would hire a job coach to help me find a job. After all, if they are unemployed when they get to you … what does that say about them? I think this title could be spiced up just a tad. Maybe recruitment specialist? I am not sure here.
