Bad Customer Service Alert … the Surprise Factor

Surprises are bad, bad … very bad. Well, maybe not when it comes to a party (although – definitely not my cup of tea). Anyway, business suprises are not good. Always be upfront with your customers, especially when it comes to anything financial. Here is a classic bad move I just experienced. Now, we travel quite a bit with M Communications and M Com Publishing, and renting cars is not a foreign concept. Recently, with a car repair situation I had to deal with – I was given a free rental car. FREE = Great, right? Anyway, to my surprise – I checked my account later on that day and the rental car company had taken out $300 out of my account and this was nowhere to be seen on the contract. Um. Not a good suprise and not good business model. Well, after posting a not-so-nice review of said company (I never do that) and a couple of messages later – said charge was taken off. My point? Business surprises are BAD!
