Naming is beyond important whether it be your book, your company or even a fantastic new product. There are even companies you can hire to specifically do this for you. At M Communications and M Com Publishing, bad naming is always cracking us up. One of my personal favorites to date was when I was looking for a company to order pens and stumbled upon Pen Island. Are you laughing yet? Put both of those words together. Recently, it was pointed out to me that the cabin that I have rented for a wedding up in Donner Lake is located near Jackass Point. Now, I am not sure who comes up with landmark names, but really? I basically told my friend that I hoped that there weren’t a bunch of jackasses running around. Take careful care when it comes to your naming.
