What not to do while networking

If you have been following our blog for a bit, you know that we do quite a bit of networking for M Communications and M Com Publishing. Here is a couple of things you should not do:

1. Stand up and announce to an entire group that you have to go pee. Unfortunately, I am not kidding. Here is the deal. Quietly sneak out at an appropriate time, like on an event break.

2. Show up last minute to self-promote your company and leave. First, no one is going to sign up for your services. Second, you may become a prime example of bad networking behavior that is discussed organization wide.

3. Leave early in a VERY obvious way. Emergencies and scheduling snafus happen … I get it. However, walking out in the middle of group activity after promoting yourself. Very bad.
