At M Com Publishing and M Communications we see social media disasters all the time. Here are the top things we see and you should avoid this behavior at all times … especially, when you have business colleagues on your social media website.
1. Do not post your personal life crisis – and then comment on it. There is nothing worse than publicly airing your dirty laundry. Most people do not want to hire complete train wrecks.
2. Do not be a walking talking infomercial. If all you are posting is: read my blog, read my blog, buy my book, buy my book – your followers will lose interest. Engage in your audience and participate authentically.
3. Do not join random Facebook fan pages and announce yourself by selling something. Congratulations – you just annoyed everyone on a fan page. And, why do you think that is a good networking technique? Maybe get to know people first. Just a thought.
Anyway, just don’t go there.
