Bad Speaker Bob. Bad Speaker Bob is not only a walking talking infomercial, but takes his dog and pony show complete with fireworks one step further. Bad Speaker Bob basically goes into non-politically correct topics in his speech: religion (which is fine if this is the topic at hand), politics and completely does a verbal assumptive assessment of everyone in the group. At the end, Bad Speaker Bob offers his 1K course for fifty dollars and no one signs up. My point? Don’t insult your audience.
Flakey Frank. Flakey Frank is like that bad boyfriend that says he will call and doesn’t and then makes plans and disappears on you. Flakey Frank is the bad networking nitwit who will continuous make meeting plans and either does not show up or cancels a few minutes prior, having zero respect for your schedule. If you run into a Flakey Frank, I highly suggest you do not put up with such obnoxious behavior and run the other way … screaming. Or, keep it to a scheduled phone call – chances are he will not make the meeting anyway.
Obnoxious Olivia. Obnoxious Olivia is fun, fun, fun, but needs to keep the fun to social settings not networking events. Obnoxious Olivia will scream at you like she is your long lost cousin you have not seen in 10 years and interrupt what is a rather serious conversation with a business colleague. She will also announce that she has been brewery hopping all day to a group of people and then try to order a martini at an event that is only serving coffee. Obnoxious Olivia needs to separate the party from event participation.
