Every once in awhile the stalling tactic shows up. Usually, it comes in the form of excuses in one way or another and if it comes in the form of “the check is in the mail” – big red flag. My four year-old has this tactic down pat. It really doesn’t matter what time bedtime is – he will ingeniuosly think of every strategic move in the world to not have to go to bed. As a mom, I am proud of his creativity. As a business owner, I find this very annoying when it comes to clients/potential clients. My point? You do not want to have anyone who falls in the “stalling” category as clients. Not getting paid on time and not being able to deliver a project on time are both very frustrating. And, a major timesuck to boot.
