You have the business idiot syndrome if you have one of the below symptoms.
Harassing someone to become one of your down line if you work for an MLM company. This is particularly funny if you do not happen to visit their company website and realize they already run two companies, as well as having zero desire to sell skin care products. Also, when they say no – ask them for their rolodex, so they can harass your colleagues. I wish I was making this up.
Not following up. If you have someone that wants to order a product or service from you and you do not respond … business must be really good. I just do not understand the logic if someone is throwing money at you and you are too busy to respond. Usually, it is not because your business is going through the roof.
Bad advertising. This comes in the form of having your 2 year-old design your ad for you, which is complete with a lack of any contact information whatsoever. Please put your website on this sort of thing at the very least. And, don’t get me started if you do not have a website. The yellow pages end up in the recycle bin or underneath a non-level table nowadays.
Lack of cohesive branding. You have three different companies and there isn’t anything that remotely connects the three. Oh, and your website, ads, business cards do not remotely match. No Bueno. And, you are confusing people.
Press releases with errors. One, you will not get coverage. Two, you will not look so smart because you are sending this to someone with a journalism degree. Three, spelling errors are just as bad as misinformation. Research teams tend to look up and verify facts, so do not tell the media you have a Fortune 500 company when you do not. Just do not send this out.
