Get media attention … they like to attend launch parties. Please tell me who does not like to go to a party or get an invite to a party? It feels good even if you can’t go. This is a great way to build on a media campaign – send out a press release plus party invite. Now, the media does get bombarded (we do too – I didn’t know half the people who invited me to events last year), but it is a great way to get a little extra attention in an article. Press release + party mention in paper = you likey. When I had Writers Who Mean Business event written up in an article, I had over 80 attendees (and that was probably thanks to Kitty O’Neal’s show on KFBK too). If you do not know how to do this on your own and you probably do not because you are not a publicist hire someone (not your webmaster) to get the media to take notice.
