In addition to speakers gone wild, we have also seen audience members gone wild. Here are a couple of tips and tricks to not lose your audience.
1. Speak to your audience. The last thing you want to do is talk over someones head or not speak to your audience. This is a surefire way to lose people. Be prepared to change on the spot too. One time, the crowd I was speaking to clearly was not going to understand an in depth conversation on social media, so a last minute switch was needed.
2. Stay in your time frame.Longer is not better. This is not only a good way to lose people, but a great way to piss event organizer. Following someone else’s event rules is a good thing.
3. Just don’t go there. If you are not an expert on a particular topic or are going to make a generalization about a topic that is not relative to your back ground. You might not want to go there. Especially, if you open it for a group discussion. You might find yourself buried.
