To Speak or Not To Speak … that is the Question

At M Com Publishing and our sister company M Communications, we know that speaking means sales. This could be book sales, product sales and even services. This occurs when you speak on a topic related to your business. You are giving yourself exposure and giving your company exposure. Sounds pretty easy, right? Here is where speakers go wrong. They use a speaking forum for their political banter or speak entirely off topic on a subject they like, like their pet bunny for example. When they do this they usually leave the audience baffled, confused and then they eventually tune out. As a result, the speaker as not only created negative exposure, but has managed to alienate/bore an entire room. So, to answer my question … I say not to speak.
