Watch out for the Entitlement Factor

In the past few years at M Communications and M Com Publishing, we stopped giving away freebies. Why? Each time you give something out for free (say a 1K marketing plan), guess what happens? You give something away and your potential client not only takes all of your ideas, implements them and disappears. Hence, no more marketing plans. I was recently chatting with a PR colleague and she was telling me about some comp hours she gave a client. That turned into they wanted more national PR, a party and a social media campaign; all for free. My point? If someone gives you an inch, I highly suggest not taking a mile. Let’s just say this person got blacklisted by my friend. Watch out for those who expect freebies, because it will keep on coming.
